long time no see, guys. i've just had loads of university-related work lately. besides trying to settle in in hamburg, making new friends and checking out my amazing new home aka shopping paradise there's been little time for me to keep my blog updated.
since i've only been living here for like two weeks, my room still isn't completely finished, especially in terms of decoration. basically, there's this giant empty space on the wall above my couch that i've been struggling to prettify. i neither wanted a standard new york skyline nor another totally unnecessary intellectual piece of abstract modern art.
i was incredibly happy when i stumbled upon a very special diy i had already seen on a blog once but never found the time to actually make. it's beautyrella's 'be a gossip girl diy'. (for those of you who don't know gossip girl, go watch it!)
for those of you who do know it, god bless you! and yes, i am talking about the amazing butterfly masterpiece in serena's room in blair's apartment. considering that blair designed the room, it's obvious that this amazing piece of art is gonna blow every student's budget. if you're still interested in owning an 'original', just google 'paul villinsky', he's the creative superbrain behind all this beauty.
anyway. the game is on. i'm gonna do it. and i'll keep you updated on my progress, i promise! if you've done something similar or if i inspired you to do the same diy, i'd love to hear about your project as well, you can just leave a comment below.

gossip girl diy
lange nicht gesehen. meine letzte woche war vollgepackt mit uni, einleben, freunde finden und hamburg entdecken. also ziemlich viel zu tun. und weil ich erst seit zwei wochen hier bin, hatte ich auch noch nicht genug zeit, um mein zimmer komplett einzurichten, vor allem dekorationstechnisch. da ist dieser riesen weiße fleck über meinem sofa. und da mir weder standard new york skylines noch total unnötige intellektuelle abstrakte kunstwerke gefallen, war ich erstmal ziemlich ratlos.
bis ich beim rumsurfen auf beautyrella's 'be a gossip girl diy' gestoßen bin. ehrlich gesagt habe ich diese wunderbare selbstbastel-idee schon mal gesehen und damals nicht genug motivation für die umsetzung gehabt. aber jetzt werde ich es durchziehn!
(für die, die gossip girl nicht kennen - anschauen!) für die, die es kennen - herzlichen glückwunsch! ihr wisst wohl schon, wovon ich rede. das wunderschöne schmetterlings-kunstwerk in serenas zimmer in blairs apartment. da blair das zimmer eingerichtet hat sollte klar sein, dass das original-meisterwerk wohl jedes studenten-budget sprengen würde. wer sich für das original interessiert - einfach 'paul villinsky' googeln, der hat's gemacht.
auf jeden fall habe ich jetzt ein neues projekt. und ich werde euch auf dem laufenden halten, versprochen!
