K as in Kiehl's

hello my lovelies.. i know it's been quite a while. but i'm back with some beauty news. as you may know from this post, i've been struggling to find the right cure for my oily skin and giant pores ever since. 

as far as my makeup routine is concerned, i've found some pretty helpful products. first of all, i've started using liquid foundation. it really helps to create a really clear and nice complexion plus it'll make sure your powder finish stays in place for much longer.

the other amazing discovery i made is using baby powder instead of that - let's face it - totally overpriced translucent powder every brand is trying to sell these days. just sprinkle some of that white stuff onto your powder brush and add it either directly after your foundation or on top of your powder finish. either way it'll instantly mattify your skin and keep it that way throughout most of the day.

in terms of skincare, i've decided to step up the game once and for all and splurge on some real high-quality products. after doing some research i decided to go for Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion and their Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic. the super sweet lady at the counter said that mixing those two would be the perfect mix to help refine my pores and moisturize my skin without adding any additional oil to it. since the products don't come that cheap, I am really looking forward to using them.

hallo erstmal, der letzte post ist ja doch schon wieder eine weile her.. aaaaaber ich bin zurück und das mit einem kleinen aber feinen update zum thema hautpflege. wie ihr vielleicht aus diesem post wisst, bin ich seit ewigkeiten auf der suche nach der perfekten pflege für meine mehr als typische mischhaut mit vergrößerten poren und einem leider ziemlich nervigen hang zu öligem glanz.

in sachen make-up habe ich flüssige foundation für mich entdeckt. sie hilft, das hautbild ebenmäßig und fein erscheinen zu lassen und sorgt gleichzeitig dafür, dass mein puder-finish besser und länger hält.

eine weitere "entdeckung" war baby-puder. klingt komisch, ist aber eine ziemlich geniale alternative zu den - ganz ehrlich - total überteuerten translucent (durchsichtigen) pudern, die es gerade überall als neue wunderwaffe zu kaufen gibt. einfach direkt nach der foundation oder über das puder-finish geben und schon bleibt die haut fast einen ganzen tag schön mattiert.

auch wenn diese zwei neuerungen in meiner täglichen routine schon zu einer ziemlichen verbesserung geführt haben, habe ich mich entschlossen in sachen hautpflege mal wirklich zu investieren und auf hohe qualität  - und preis - zu setzen. nach einiger recherche habe ich mich schließlich für Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion und das Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic entschieden. Die supersüße counter-dame meinte dass die beiden produkte in verbindung sowohl poren verfeinern als auch für ausreichend feuchtigkeit ohne zusätzliches öl sorgen. ich bin mal gespannt, ob sich die investition gelohnt hat.

the tonic's main ingredient is clay that'll help to pull out all the bad stuff from your skin and leave it clean and refreshed. once you shake the bottle, the clay dissolves leaving the tonic all murky. // der hauptbestandteil des gesichtswassers ist tonerde, die alle unreinheiten aus der haut zieht und sie somit tiefenreinigt und erfrischt. wenn man die flasche schüttelt, löst sich die abgesetzte tonerde und macht die flüssigkeit trüb. 

the lotion is completely oil-free and will provide your skin with moisture all day long. even though there are no special mattifying ingredients in there (which usually dry out the skin) it'll be absorbed pretty quickly thus leaving your face without any unwanted shiny finish. // die gesichtslotion ist komplett ölfrei und versorgt die haut den ganzen tag über mit feuchtigkeit. es sind zwar keine speziell mattierenden inhaltsstoffe drin (die die haut eigentlich meist nur austrocknen), aber die lotion zieht total schnell ein und bildet kein glänzendes finish.

i've also gotten samples of the corresponding cleansers which i'll probably buy if the other products convince me - i'll definitely keep you updated! // als probe gab's die passenden reinigungsprodukte. feedback zu allem gibt's bald!
